OHS String Orchestra

A String Orchestra consists of the following string instruments: violin, viola, cello, bass.

Each instrument is supported by sections of players. The section leader is typically the most accomplished player in the section, and sometimes leads sectional rehearsals.

The OHS String Orchestra practices during orchestra class all year. If one of the drama productions wants to use a ‘pit orchestra’, portions of the string orchestra may have some evening practices as well.

The String Orchestra and members from Wind Ensemble/Symphonic Band combine to form the Symphony Orchestra. The String Orchestra and Jazz Band normally play in the same concert productions during the school year.
