OVERLAND HIGH SCHOOL BAND & COLOR GUARD

Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band, consists of woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments (piccolo, flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, sax, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, string bass, piano, guitar, percussion, tympani).

Wind Ensemble is for the more experienced players and Symphonic Band is for the relatively newer players.

In a symphonic band there are normally several musicians playing the same part for a particular instrument.

Practice is during band class after the marching band season ends. If the drama department productions wants to use a ‘pit orchestra’, portions of the symphonic band will have some evening practices based on when the performance dates are scheduled.
