| We look forward to seeing all band students at Band Camp!
- Monday - Friday, August 9-13, 9am-3pm AND
- Monday - Thursday, August 16-19, 5pm-8pm in the OHS band room.
- Attendance is required for all band students.
- Bring hat, sunscreen, shoes for marching (no flip flops!), water bottle, instrument, music, food or $ for lunch (can walk to local shops)
- Incoming students from Prairie received the marching music in the spring - please come with your music learned
- Band Camp barbeque August 20, 1pm-3pm outside. Bring $1 and a side dish: dessert, drink, fruit, veggies, chips. (Hot dogs provided)
- Important parent meeting: Tuesday August 17, 7pm in the OHS band room.
- Our first two performances (all day events):
- Saturday, August 28, Colorado State Fair, Pueblo
- Saturday, September 11, Longs Peak Scottish Irish Festival, Estes Park.

Band is selling Overland Blazer knit hats for only $8. See a band student to purchase.
Stadium blankets with OHS logo are being sold
for only $20! These are great to keep in the car, with a water-repellent
side and a fleece side, contact
Karen.

Bingo volunteers needed:
Bingo is the main fundraiser to pay for our band programs. The
bingo program needs adult and student help to continue. Please visit the bingo
page, check the bingo
schedule, and contact Lee
W. or Susan B. asap so these band programs can continue.
Expectations for band students: All band students are expected
to
- Purchase the music book Foundations for Superior Performance:
Warm-ups and Technique for Band (publisher: Neil A. Kjos Music
Company) for your instrument
- Purchase the concert uniform for the performances (males shop for your own black tux, black bow tie, black cummberbund, white shirts; females purchase 2-piece black concert ensemble for females for $65, ordered through the school)
- Attend band camp during the summer
- Participate in fall field show, pep band (play in stands at OHS varsity home
football games) and parades (2-3) - see Calendar
- Participate in bingo or other volunteer support - transportation,
props, food (students and/or parents)
